The combination of rising operational costs and clients diluting their businesses in Singapore convinced him that overseas expansion was the route to a brighter future.
“We had no intention to expand our business abroad at first. But we started facing challenges as our local clients were starting to exit the Singapore market. The local market was getting too stagnant to survive. We had to find means of getting new businesses. Luckily we went on the trip with IE. It was an eye-opener. It gave insights into how ATC could compete and gain overseas customers. It was also a waste not to expand abroad because we had a bag-load of professional certifications and expertise that could serve specialised areas such as medicine, aerospace, oil and gas.”
