A study of inter-district disparities in health infrastructure in Haryana, India

Despite being one of the economically strong states in India, Haryana suffers from inter-district disparities in health infrastructure. Only a few of its 22 districts are endowed with better health facilities. This article takes a look at the availability of health infrastructure in terms of hospitals, health centres, number of beds in medical institutions, doctors and nurses in the districts of Haryana and examines the disparities in the overall performance of each district in health infrastructure through deprivation and development indices. It also highlights the districts that are in need of a plan of action from the government.
